Unrefined butters, cold pressed oils, and herbs. Most products are scented with essential oils instead of synthetic fragrance, and every ingredient is on the label in plain words.

Glass jars, because we don't play with the planet either.

Every body butter and candle comes in a glass jar. Glass doesn't soak up oils or scents, so your butter stays just the way we made it, and glass can be recycled again and again.

When your jar is empty, rinse it with warm soapy water and give it a second life holding cotton pads, hair ties, or a little plant. Or recycle it with your glass where glass is accepted.

Our salves, balms, and chest rub come in metal tins, which can be reused or recycled where metal is accepted.

It's the same rule we follow for your skin: keep it simple, keep it clean, and leave out what doesn't need to be there.

Started by a mom. Made in our kitchen.

Don't Play Skin was started by a mom who was tired of buying sensitive skin products off the shelf that never worked for her or for her child, who took after her with very sensitive skin. Soap with artificial fragrance or harsh chemicals was off the table.

So she started making her own. Don't Play Skin grew out of our family kitchen lab, shaped by a clear set of values: honesty, simplicity, and respect for what we put on our skin and share with others.

It took years to get the formulas right. Our soap feels like suede. Our body butters feel like cashmere and leave skin soft and moisturized.

Today this is more than a business. It's our family sharing what works for us with yours.

Questions

Is it okay for sensitive skin?

Our everyday skincare is short and gentle and scented with essential oils or real vanilla bean. Our two Unicorn Butters are the only products made with fragrance, so choose another product if your skin is sensitive. Patch test on your inner arm first and wait 24 hours.

I have a nut allergy.

Shea and coconut are tree nut ingredients. Check with your doctor before using our butters and balms.

Are your jars recyclable?

Yes. Body butters and candles come in glass jars and salves come in metal tins. Rinse and reuse them, or recycle them where glass and metal are accepted.

Do you include free samples?

When we have samples on hand, we tuck a free one into your order. We can't promise a sample with every order, but we always try.
